This past Sunday morning was an adventure! While in Ouaga, we learned that one of the pastors here (Pastor Simplice) was involved in a bad moto accident. Ms. Lynn wanted to go visit him and his church in a village about an hour to two hours away named Naro. It took us about three hours to get there, on account of a torrential down pour that took place about midway there. Naro is located off the paved road and could easily be considered remote. So, at two points into our adventure, we came upon places where the water was steadily flowing over the road. And then I got to do something that I have never down before on my way to church: I got out of the truck, rolled up my slacks over my knees and walked through the water in my Crocs to the other side. I almost wore leather sandals that more but decided to Croc-it on account of it looking weather-full just before we left. In both cases, the water was not too high for the truck's tires, and we continued to move forward. There was a point during the second river that I felt a little nervous as the current was kinda strong in spots, however, it all worked out well and God blessed out trip, and we made it there safely. Though another Shattering Darkness pastor (Pastor Marcell) was preaching that morning, Pastor Simplice was there interpreting for him and doing very well. It was miraculous how well!

The girls in front of a bread oven. Shattering Darkness has a weekly ministry called "Feed His Children," and this bread oven is one of several that does just that every Sunday morning.

The majority of Dagara praise and worship is Scripture set to song. Though, as of now, we do not understand what was being sung, the corporate worship that morning encouraged me as I saw God's people moving together as one in worship to Him. Movement is definitely a vital part of the people's corporate, unified expression of praise to God. Oh, I look forward to knowing what is being sung and how the movements made reflect the message proclaimed!!!
Below are some pics taken when we were last in Diebougou.
