Bird Sunday School Class, FBC Brandon, MS |
Yes, you read that correctly, we will be on African soil in 10 DAYS! It has been stressful and exciting—wonderful and hectic. In the midst of it all, this past Sunday was another one of God's good and perfect gifts to us. Our home church here in Mississippi blessed us with much love and prayer. First our Sunday school class prayed for us that morning (each couple at a time), and then, that evening, worship leader, John Clendinning, opened up a time of prayer for us during the congregational praise portion of the service. (Thank you, John!) What an outpouring of encouragement, prayer, words of exhortation, and hugs!!! …not to mention the tears that God blessed us with as our First Baptist Brandon folks loved on us. It was AMAZING and showed us clearly how much our home church loves and supports us—which indeed means much to us. (First Baptist Brandon was our first church after we were married. It was also the place where I surrendered to full-time ministry, and this was the church family who faithfully and generously supported us through my seminary years in New Orleans.) WE LOVE YOU, OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN CHRIST AT FBC BRANDON AND ARE SO THANKFUL FOR YOUR LOVE, PRAYERS, AND PARTNERSHIP WITH US!
Today, I am fighting a cold. Too many late nights. Please pray not only for my health but for the health of my family as we are in the last days of our preparations for the big move. Also, please pray for Christ's peace over our girls as they are feeling some anxiety not only about going to Africa but also about getting there via an airplane. We want this to be an adventure for them—as it will most definitely be. And we also want them to have the peace of Jesus through the process. Maleah's last airplane trip was when she was a baby. Please pray especially for her. THANK YOU! — Ed.
