Romans 11:33-36 (NASB)
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!
For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?
Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to him again?
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
Today, April 4th, 2014, God answered the prayers of many in a single signature. Months of praying found their fulfillment in our Lord's own perfect and wonderful ways and timing. This morning we gained a tenant for our house in Vivian!!! We are elated and overjoyed not only to see this huge need met but also in the way that it was met. Our vacancy insurance was due to run out today! Our online for-sale-by-owner listing ran out last night! And, as of this week, we have sufficient funds to leave for the field in two months!
His ways are so much better than our own.
His timing so perfect and complete.
After about a year of preparing...
of speaking at churches and with groups and individuals... of raising our family's 2-year pre-field and on-field financial support... of praying to be freed of our monthly house note, God in His well-placed timing has readied us for this moment. And not just us! Because it is not about us! It is about God's glory, God's honor, and God's will being done, which are so much greater than what is best for our family—though His best is our best! And we are only a few in a much larger number of brothers and sisters in Christ who have faithfully prayed, sacrificed, fasted, encouraged, and have themselves been stretched through this past year of preparation. This is by God's good design, and we praise Him for it.
